Everyone at OWE has been excited to join their long-time friends and clients at Sanrio in celebrating the 40th birthday of Hello Kitty. Taking part in the birthday festivities, our own Linda Joy Kattwinkel, Larry Townsend, and their families and friends were on hand at Hello Kitty Con 2014 in Los Angeles over the Halloween weekend for the four-day event attended by more than 25,000 fans.
The event, which was held for four days at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Little Tokyo was completely sold out and clearly the place to see and be seen for Hello Kitty enthusiasts from around the U.S. Next door, the Japanese American National Museum is featuring an art exhibit: “Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty,” the first large-scale Hello Kitty retrospective in the U.S., which continues through April 26, 2015.
Linda Joy and her entourage attended a VIP reception on the evening before Hello Kitty Con 2014 opened to the public where they were able to see all the many exhibits, mingle with other Hello Kitty fans, and were treated to a rock concert by Japanese star Yoshiki. As Hello Kitty always says, “You can never have too many friends.”
