GGU IP Law Center Tech Talk: Privacy Compliance for Start-Ups

Golden Gate University’s IP Law Center is launching a series of Tech Talks on May 5, starting with a program on the practicalities of privacy compliance for start-ups.  See details below.  OWE’s Greg Owen and John C. Baum serve as members of the Board of the IP Law Center.

Description: A discussion of the basics of consumer privacy, with an emphasis on the practicalities of privacy compliance for technology startups including case study review, “privacy by design” solutions, and issues for venture capital investors.

SpeakerJOANNE MCNABB is Director of Privacy Education and Policy in the Privacy Enforcementand Protection Unit of the California Attorney General’s Office. McNabb is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, with specializations in Government and Information Technology. She serves on the Privacy Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is a Fellow of the Ponemon Institute, a research center on privacy, data protection and information security policy.
