Erin Clarke Returns to OW&E After Faculty Posts at UC Hastings and Berkeley Law

Erin Clarke has rejoined Owen, Wickersham & Erickson (“OW&E”) in San Francisco after almost fifteen years as a faculty member at UC Hastings and Berkeley Law.  At OW&E Erin’s practice will once again focus on trademark and copyright counseling, clearance, prosecution, enforcement, licensing and litigation.

Erin joined the UC Hastings faculty in 2016 after more than a decade as a Lecturer in Residence at UC Berkeley School of Law in the first-year legal research, analysis, and writing program. Before her tenure at Berkeley Law, she worked in the areas of trademark and copyright law with OW&E, and before that practiced business litigation with a high-profile San Francisco law firm.

“We are fortunate and grateful having a lawyer of Erin’s ability and quality rejoin the firm after her successful academic career,” said Greg Owen, principal of OW&E.  “We know Erin is a skilled and knowledgeable lawyer, a marvelous person, and a valuable asset of the firm. We are delighted to have Erin return home.”

“I’m excited to be rejoining Owen Wickersham and diving back into the substantive practice of trademark and copyright law,” said Erin.  “I’ll miss my students and colleagues at Hastings, but can’t wait to be practicing law again in the field I enjoy with people I like and admire.”

Erin was awarded her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1989. Her varied academic interests also earned her an M.A. in drama from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in genetics from UC Berkeley.  In addition to her law firm and academic experience, she spent two years coordinating the lawyer referral service for California Lawyers for the Arts, a nonprofit organization helping artists of all disciplines with legal issues.
